STEM Program
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is a large part of our summer curriculum. Horizons is dedicated to building brighter futures for children of varying levels of ability by giving them the opportunity to learn new academic and social skills through our hands-on STEM projects. STEM activities and projects introduce students to community arts and technology opportunities.
The heart of our academic mission is to encourage every child to pursue knowledge through experiences, STEM projects, and reading. With the help of our partners in the community, together we invest resources and knowledge into each child to steer them towards a successful future with confidence. Each summer, we have staff working as STEM role models and provide daily hands-on activities for low income public school children with the goal to motivate each child to become an innovative and creative thinker. As a result, older students are exposed to robotics, 3D printing, coding, digital photography and videography while our younger students engage in experiments focusing on the environment and natural sciences.
